Technical Specifications for Industrial European Roller Shutters

 1. General Technical Performance Requirements

1.1 Durability: The service life of the door shall be no less than 50,000 operating cycles (excluding wearing parts).

1.2 Wind Resistance: The wind resistance rating shall be determined based on application scenarios, with a minimum value of ≥700 Pa. Reinforcement shall be applied to door panels when necessary.

1.3 Sealing Performance: Sealing wool strips shall be installed inside the guide rails. For special applications, EPDM rubber strips shall be fitted at the interlocking joints of individual slats.

1.4 Safety Performance: The drive unit shall be equipped with a self-locking mechanism to prevent unauthorized opening during power failure. Travel limit stops shall be installed at the full open and full closed positions with precise positioning, and the repeat positioning accuracy shall not exceed 10 mm.

1.5 Electric Control Unit Performance: The door shall operate normally under ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C and relative humidity up to 90%. All electrical components shall provide precise control. Push-button control for door opening and closing is standard, with expandable alternative control modes available.

1.6 Opening & Closing Control Performance: The control mechanism shall be sensitive and smooth, with an operating speed of 0.1 ~ 0.2 m/s. If equipped with a remote controller, its effective signal range shall be 15 m to 50 m. A manual chain operation function shall be provided for emergency use during power outages.

1.7 Noise Control: Continuous operating noise during opening and closing shall not exceed 65 dB.

## 2. Manufacturing Standards & Requirements

2.1 Guide Rails: Fabricated from aluminum alloy with a thickness of 1.6–2.5 mm, finished with surface coating, fitted with noise-dampening sealing strips, and equipped with decorative caps for all fastener holes.

2.2 Fixing Components: Made of galvanized steel sheet with a minimum thickness of 2.0 mm, with coated surface finish.

2.3 Shaft Support Brackets: Stamped from galvanized steel sheet with a thickness of 2.0–4.0 mm and coated surface finish; fixed or movable brackets shall be configured per project requirements.

2.4 Balance Shafts: Galvanized round tubes with diameters of φ80, φ114, φ140, φ165, φ220 shall be selected according to door opening dimensions and motor model.

2.5 Door Slats: Double-layer aluminum alloy slats with thicknesses of 77 mm, 80 mm, 90 mm, 100 mm or 120 mm shall be matched to door opening sizes and motor specifications, providing sufficient overall rigidity and structural strength.

2.6 Slat Cutting: The shutter is assembled from multiple individual slats. The length tolerance of each cut slat shall be controlled within ±1 mm, and cutting must be performed with dedicated aluminum profile cutting machinery.

2.7 Motor Unit: Rated voltage 220 V / 380 V; fixed external mount motors or mobile external mount motors are optional to meet full operational requirements, with expandable control solutions.

2.8 Outer Motor Housing: If an outer enclosure is fitted, its geometric dimensions shall be standard, with tight matching to shaft support brackets or fixing frames, without interfering with the manual emergency operation device of the motor.

## 3. Assembly Standards & Requirements

3.1 Door panel surfaces shall be flat and smooth, free of obvious mechanical damage, with no visible color difference between adjacent slat surfaces.

3.2 Guide rails and all hardware components shall have flat, smooth surfaces free of obvious mechanical damage, with no visible color difference between adjacent surfaces.

3.3 The coating on all components shall be uniform with consistent color, free of sagging, peeling, bare substrate or other surface defects.

3.4 Horizontal and vertical perpendicularity of guide rails shall be controlled within 5 mm, with absolute vertical alignment as the target.

3.5 Single-side overlap between door slats and walls / guide rails shall be no less than 25 mm; increased overlap shall be adopted for special conditions.

3.6 The overlap between the top of door slats and the balance shaft shall extend a minimum of 80–300 mm over the top surface of the shaft, with exact values determined based on shaft outer diameter.

3.7 Guide rails, drive assemblies and balance systems shall be securely mounted with no wobble; special care must be taken to prevent outward deflection of shaft support brackets.

## Supplementary Notes

- Door Jamb Width: Minimum clear dimension >80 mm (for fixed support motors); >140 mm (for mobile rolling support motors).

- Lintel Height: Minimum clear dimension > outer diameter of fully wound shaft + 100 mm; shaft diameter varies with door opening height.

- Clearance between Door Jamb and Internal Upright Column: Where internal upright columns exist, the clearance from door jamb to column shall exceed 300 mm to allow space for construction tools.

- Clearance between Lintel and Internal Beam: Where internal beams exist, the clearance from inner lintel surface to beam shall exceed 680 mm (fixed support motors) or 750 mm (mobile rolling support motors); precise values shall be calculated based on door opening height.

- Power Supply Location: Installed on the ceiling slab or side wall adjacent to the ceiling, positioned away from the shutter winding shaft and shaft support brackets (left or right side is acceptable).
