Soarshinedoor Overhead Sectional Garage Door Complete Technical Specification

Part 1  Civil Engineering Preconditions for Installation of Overhead Sectional Garage Doors

When installing overhead sectional garage doors, the civil structure of the construction site must meet the installation requirements of the garage door. Qualified installation conditions help deliver a better appearance and smoother operation after installation. The left and right directions mentioned below are defined as viewed from inside the garage facing outward.

1 Civil Engineering Requirements for Door Jambs

1.1 The wall sections on both sides of the door opening occupying the garage width are defined as door jambs. The width from the opening face of the jamb to the garage wall is the jamb width.

The effective width of each jamb shall be ≥80 mm, with a standard installation width of ≥150 mm. Its verticality tolerance shall be less than 10 mm, and it shall be flush with the lintel of the door opening on the inner plane.

1.2 Within the range extending inward from both jambs for a distance equal to door panel height + 350 mm, there shall be no obstructions that hinder track installation and door operation.

1.3 The building door jambs at the installation site must be solid structures such as concrete or solid bricks that can bear expansion screws or self-drilling screws; hollow brick structures are prohibited.

2 Civil Engineering Requirements for Lintel

2.1 The vertical section from the bottom of the opening lintel to the ceiling slab is the lintel, and its vertical dimension is the lintel height.

Minimum effective inner lintel height requirements:

If rear beam exists: Lintel height − rear beam height ≥ 160 mm

If no rear beam: Lintel height ≥ 200 mm

Standard installation height: ≥250 mm for double-track systems; ≥350 mm for single-track systems.

2.2 The inner plane of the lintel shall be flush with the inner planes of both door jambs.

2.3 Starting from the inner plane of the lintel, within the inward range of door opening height + 900 mm, there shall be no obstructions interfering with the operator track and door movement.

2.4 If no civil lintel is available on site and additional civil construction is not feasible, fixed panels made of garage door materials may be used as a substitute lintel (this alternative installation method is not recommended).

3 Illustrations & Supplementary Installation Notes

Supplementary Notes

Effective Jamb Width: Effective jamb width shall exceed 80 mm. Definition of effective width: If inner columns or other obstructions exist inside the garage, Jamb width − inner column width ≥ 80 mm.

Lintel Height: Minimum lintel height > 200 mm (double-track installation), > 350 mm (single-track installation). If inner beams or obstructions exist inside the garage, the requirement is adjusted to Lintel height − inner beam height ≥ 160 mm.

Power Supply Position: Install a five-hole socket on the ceiling slab at the intersection of the door centerline and the inward depth of door panel height + 900 mm (measured from the inner lintel plane). If there is no inner beam, shift the socket 200 mm off the centerline.

Inner Columns with No Installation Interference: If the distance from the jamb to the inner column exceeds door panel height + 300 mm (double-track) / +100 mm (single-track), the inner column will not affect installation and can be ignored.

Inner Beams with No Installation Interference: If the distance from the lintel to the inner beam exceeds door panel height + 900 mm (double-track) / +800 mm (single-track), the inner beam will not affect installation and can be ignored.

For all other special site conditions, conduct customized design and calculation according to actual field measurements.

Part 2 General Technical Requirements for Overhead Sectional Garage Doors

1 General Functional Performance Requirements

1.1 Durability: Design service life of the door shall be no less than 50,000 operation cycles (excluding consumable wearing parts).

1.2 Wind Resistance: Wind resistance shall be determined based on the application scenario, with a minimum rating of ≥800 Pa. Reinforcement of door panels shall be adopted if necessary.

1.3 Thermal Insulation & Sealing: Thermal conductivity of door panels shall be less than 3.0 W/(㎡·K). Sealing gaskets shall be installed at all joints between the garage door and civil structures.

1.4 Safety Performance:

The door operator is equipped with anti-collision safety features to prevent injury to personnel or damage to objects during operation.

When closing, the door automatically stops and reverses upon encountering obstacles with a resistance force greater than 50 N.

Anti-pinch door panel structure is adopted to avoid hand injuries.

The drive unit is fitted with a self-locking mechanism to lock the door against theft during power outages.

Travel limit switches are installed at full open/closed positions for precise positioning with a repeat positioning tolerance ≤10 mm.

1.5 Electrical Control Performance: The door operates normally under ambient temperatures ranging from -20℃ to 50℃ and relative humidity up to 90%. All electrical components deliver precise control; wireless remote control for door opening/closing is standard, with alternative control modes supported.

1.6 Opening & Closing Control Performance:

Control mechanism is sensitive and lightweight; operation speed ranges from 0.1 m/s to 0.2 m/s.

Remote control effective distance: 15 m ~ 100 m.

Manual emergency release function is provided for power failures to manually operate the door.

Manual operating force: <70 N for door weight below 70 kg; <120 N for door weight over 70 kg.

1.7 Noise Control: Continuous running noise during door operation shall not exceed 60 dB.

2.1 Tracks: 2.0-inch or 3.0-inch wide galvanized steel tracks with a base metal thickness of 2.0 mm, finished with spray coating and anti-derailment roller retaining design.

2.2 Fixing Hardware: All fixing brackets and plates are made of galvanized steel sheet with thickness ≥2.0 mm, finished with spray coating.

2.3 Shaft Brackets: Stamped galvanized steel with fully enclosed embedded bearings; a minimum of 4 shaft brackets per door leaf.

2.4 Door Panels: Available in color-coated steel, aluminum sheet, aluminum extrusion, stainless steel, copper and other materials. Each material shall meet corresponding specifications with sufficient structural rigidity and strength.

2.5 Door Operator: Rated input voltage 220 V. Motor traction shall be reasonably matched to door weight and satisfy all other garage door specifications. Two remote transmitters are supplied as standard per operator.

2.6 Torsion Springs: Fabricated from high-grade spring steel wire grade 82B or above, with special anti-rust treatment for superior corrosion resistance and strong alternating load resistance. Average service life reaches over 50,000 cycles.

2.7 Counterbalance System: Torsion springs shall be configured in even numbers per door leaf. The counterbalance torque shall perfectly match door weight, ensuring the door stays stationary at any position without slipping down or springing back when manually operated with the motor disengaged.

2.8 Rollers: High-quality nylon rollers with fully enclosed embedded bearings for superior wear resistance. Minimum dimensions: outer diameter ≥Φ45 mm, roller width ≥10 mm, roller pin diameter ≥Φ10 mm.

3 Assembly Standards & Specifications

3.1 Door panel surfaces shall be flat without obvious mechanical damage, with no visible color difference between adjacent panels.

3.2 Tracks, hinges and all other metal hardware shall have smooth surfaces free of rust, pits or defects.

3.3 Uniform coating finish on all metal hardware with consistent color; no sagging, peeling or exposed base metal.

3.4 Tracks shall be installed with a slope ratio between 1:200 and 1:100 relative to door jambs, adjusted according to actual site and product models.

3.5 Single-side overlap between door leaf and wall shall be no less than 25 mm; increase overlap width for special site conditions.

3.6 Lateral displacement of the door leaf shall not exceed 10 mm; minimize lateral offset as much as possible.

3.7 Hinges connecting door panels shall be securely mounted, with horizontal spacing between adjacent hinges no more than 1500 mm.

3.8 Hinges and rollers shall rotate freely for smooth door travel with no obvious jamming or scraping.

3.9 Tracks, drive units and counterbalance systems shall be rigidly installed with no wobble or looseness.
